"-anopia" means a type of color-sensing cone is completely absent (e.g. protanopia = no red cones). "-anomaly" means that cone type is present but shifted, causing a milder version of the same confusion.
It uses widely-used published approximation matrices for each condition. It's a good general representation, but individual experiences of color vision deficiency vary — this is an educational tool, not a diagnostic one.
There's no cure for inherited color vision deficiency. Some tinted glasses and apps can help certain people distinguish colors more easily, but they don't restore normal color vision.
It's genuinely the most common color vision deficiency — inherited color blindness is far more common in men, since the genes involved are on the X chromosome.
